This book is a method based on practical tips and techniques that I have used successfully throughout the years while drawing and a complement to my teachings to students of all ages and levels on how to draw realistic portraits using different types of pencils. No drawing experience is required but the commitment to follow and finish every task indicated, page-by-page, is highly encouraged. To those with some drawing experience, I would recommend to just follow it faithfully; after, I am positive, they will be able to improve their drawings with their own conclusions and learnings.
With this step-by-step method in ten two-hour sessions at a rate of one session per week, to allow time for practice and homework, you will learn how to work with charcoal, graphite, and carbon pencils to obtain different textures and volumes; and by doing so, you will acquire the most difficult art challenge: to draw a well-proportioned and resembling portrait.
